OUR HISTORY

Zespół Tłumaczy Przysięgłych in Kraków, our legal predecessor, was established in 1958. The organization offered sworn translators a platform for practising their profession, sharing knowledge and experience; over decades, it created an important forum for standard setting, where young translators could polish up their skills assisted by older colleagues-mentors and find organizational support in their work that was done then (and is done today) on individual responsibility.

The organization amassed a large library of dictionaries, glossaries, encyclopaedias – still in daily use. Despite popular belief, not everything can be found on the Internet…

New opportunities emerged in the 1990s when Poland opened to the world, acquired new technologies and foreign investments; obviously, the demand for translation and interpreting dramatically rose but also the requirements were increasingly stringent: big teams, efficient organization and coordination became indispensable in completing larger and larger orders.

In those times, full of pioneering spirit, a group of dedicated colleagues supported by older, experienced translators established a limited liability company trading as SIGILLUM Professional Language Services (1991), the successor of Zespół Tłumaczy Przysięgłych.

Experience, potential, and new energy quickly created a strong and well-known brand. SIGILLUM has stood for top quality ever since then.

The company has worked with numerous top professionals over decades. Many of them took their first steps as translators and interpreters at SIGILLUM.

At present, the company is being managed by the heirs of its founders. As SIGILLUM NOVUM Ltd., it continues the best traditions and offers top-notch translations in a dynamically changing reality: Boutique Translations
